Question by Sir Hoochalot: Do you buy your dogs Christmas presents?
I just realised it’s less than three months to Christmas! I’m a massive Christmas fiend and love the whole build up and the atmosphere that surrounds Christmas.
Anyway, it made me think of involving dogs at Christmas and what lengths we go to include them in the festivities.
Do you buy Xmas pressies for your dogs, dress them up (not too OTT hopefully) or even let them eat a human Xmas dinner?
My dog gets presents from everyone. Usually just toys but my mum is buying him a fancy new collar. He also has a red bow tie – no dressing him up as an Elf though. He also gets his own Xmas dinner. Turkey, mash potato, sprouts, carrots, gravy, sausages, etc. Having a human meal once a year won’t kill him!
BYBs are small puppy mills,
We only give him stuff that he’s used to/has had before and just one child sized portion… after that he’s on his usual food. But I honestly don’t think a bit of lean turkey (hate fat on meat), a dollop of mash and a few veggies are going to hurt him, not when he’s had it all before and nothing on the plate is actually going to poison him.
He has a stomach of iron anyway. He’s certainly not sensitive.
But don’t think we overfeed him or anything like that nor give him anything that is going to react with him. Like I said, he’s given plain foods that we know he can tolorate!
Wow Shirley, somebody is a pessimist.
Some people actually LIKE buying presents for others.
